The Torbay Decorative and Fine Arts Society is affiliated to the National Association of Decorative & Fine Arts Societies (NADFAS), a leading arts charity which opens up the world of the arts through a network of local Societies and national events.
We plan our own programme which includes
- monthly lectures given by some of the country’s top experts.
- educational and cultural visits.
- a church recording project.
Society Members and Affiliate Members can also become involved in worthwhile conservation volunteering projects in churches, museums, castles and stately homes.
The National Association of Decorative & Fine Arts Societies (NADFAS) works to advance decorative and fine arts education and appreciation, alongside promoting the conservation of our artistic heritage.
Torbay Decorative & Fine Arts Society (TDFAS) now meets at the Peter Larkin Hall, St Matthias Church Centre, TQ1 1HW which is at the junction of Babbacombe Rd. and Ilsham Rd. Lectures are at 2.15pm on the 2nd Thursday of the months October to June inc.
NADFAS assisted with a grant to allow the purchase of digital equipment enabling TDFAS to hold lectures at this new venue. Parking is easy and free and there is an opportunity to have a cup of tea and cake or biscuits after each meeting which gives members the opportunity to to socialize and discuss the lecture.
